What a hidden gem! During a long drive along the north shore of Lake Superior, I decided to stop here for breakfast. The exterior of the restaurant may not have been impressive (and the interior didn't look much better), but I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious and affordable breakfast. The atmosphere had a cozy hometown feel to it. If you find yourself in need of breakfast along this relatively isolated stret... View all feedback.
What Lidia Ulloa doesn't like about Hungry Moose Restaurant:
We go in for local color, but this was a bit much. The restaurant is literally the basement of a cheap motel, and the food is mostly fried from frozen. Sometimes, what you see is what you get - and this is one of those times. The fare is mostly burgers and poutine. Meh. Oh, and make sure you pay in CAD. The owner will try to cheat you with crazy arithmetic if you use USD. View all feedback.
What an underrated treasure hidden in such a small townAre you passing through or just looking for real coffee and real food? Look no further.
Stopped in during a rainy period on the motorcycle, to dry out. Discovered excellent food, reasonable prices, and most important, good people~! The family running the place was incredibly helpful with our questions of the area, local politics, and US issues. We stopped and had breakfast and found it hard to leave once the rain started. Will definitely return on our next trip~! Recommend the egg & ham sandwich. So large I could not finish it~!
My family gets to eat here once a year and we always look forward to it! Amazing food, service is great, I also love how welcoming the owners are. Our children love coming here to hear the jokes, they love the food, atmosphere and how they're treated (they also love playing on the triceratops). I would highly recommend anyone passing through to stop in for a bite! My personal fave is Dave's grilled cheese!
Small diner with good food, service and reasonable prices. Decor is very eclectic. Easy to find off main highway.
