Hung’s Shanghai - Scotch Plains

I recently dined at this Chinese restaurant for the first time. The service was disappointing, as the waitress took a long time to take our order and was not very friendly or helpful with food suggestions. Despite requesting steamed food, the meal I received was drenched in soy sauce and lacking in meat. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the waitress, she was argumentative and unapologetic. Overall, I was not impressed with the service at this restaurant.

This restaurant serves the best Chinese food I've ever had. I drive 20 miles from my home just to eat here.

The moo shu chicken, scallion pancake, and orange and pineapple chewing gums were exceptional at this restaurant.

The food has been declining for three years. The worst hot and sour soup I've ever had. Should be called tofu and mint soup.

Great Chinese in the heart of Scotch Plains. The ingredients were the freshest I've had in Chinese food in a very long time. The hot and sour soup wasn't as hot spicy as I prefer but had a wonderful texture as a base. I ordered the shrimp with eggplant Szechuan style. Aside from my adding some of their homemade hot mustard, the dish was superb. I'll be back to try some more dishes!
