Contribute FeedbackSkillet Diner in Capitol Hill offers a mixed dining experience. While some customers found the food unseasoned and disappointing, others raved about the delicious dishes like chicken and waffles, breakfast burritos, and mac and cheese. The service received positive feedback, with some mentioning friendly staff and prompt service. The atmosphere was described as family-friendly with a typical diner setting. Some minor issues like lipstick on a coffee mug were quickly resolved. Overall, the restaurant seems to have both hits and misses, making it a polarizing choice for diners seeking a meal in Capitol Hill.
Based on the average review of 4.1, the Skillet Diner Capitol Hill is definitely worth a visit.
During a break from a conference immediately to our 12:00 reservation and was said it would wait a 15 minutes on our table. (this was after we had been told a week earlier that there was no flexibility to shrink our reservation from five to four people - instead of losing the reservation. they told us there was nothing they could do to facilitate the tables, even though we had a reservation. after twenty-five minutes we were offered five seats at the counter. we finally sat at 12:30 a.m. for our reservation and stayed half an hour to pamper a meal that was thoroughly meh. it is the responsibility of the restaurant when it is a reservation policy (which is managed quite inflexibly, btw , to waive seats so many walk-in customers that they do not honor the reservation, or to (yes, fairly rudely inform that there is a behind them, instead of the customers waiting for half an hour to request a reservation. (what makes a reservation mean when it goes? this was completely dissatisfied. I will not be back and recommend the restaurant to others.
We made a reservation, but the table was not open. we had to wait 15 minutes. I've been here without any problems, even though it's a good brunch place!
Always a good experience and delicious eating at skillet. a favorite restaurant from me.
When seated the table next to us said they had been waiting for their food for over an hour. Once they finally got it, the man next to me said “well this wasn’t worth it, it seems like they forgot to season my food.” My husband and I got ours and it also was unseasoned. Our service was nice and we had a great service, but the food was bland and not worth $50 for two breakfast burritos.
Food was cold and have been sitting. The owners need to focus on staffing and take ownership of their business.
