Contribute FeedbackWhale Wins offers a mixed dining experience, with some diners enjoying exceptional food and service while others found it disappointing. The restaurant's creative dishes, such as braised pork and black cod, receive praise for their quality and inventive flavors. However, some diners were let down by the lackluster main dishes, with one even describing the black cod as flavorless and fishy. The inconsistency in service is also noted, with some diners receiving attentive and friendly service, while others felt neglected. Overall, Whale Wins offers a unique dining experience with delicious food and creative cocktails that may vary depending on individual visits.
I have my previous review of a 5 stars on 1 star based on our experience today. we have made a reservation online for 2 watches today. we sat inside, one of three sitting, so it didn't work. when we ordered our food, the waiter seemed to say that we didn't want drinks when he asked. he asked if I should leave the menu here as if we had to look more into the drink list. my wife was on the call and I went back to portland, so we both didn't want to drink. We had a lot of coffee so that it could not sound good, no matter what, it's not our fault that we wanted nothing but water. Even then we were not disturbed, but another server dropped our food, which is good, but about 2 minutes later our server was very politely checked on a nearby table that received their food by the same time, but had 2 glasses wein, then looked on our table and went without checking into the kitchen. I felt when I felt like a second class client. When we finished our eating, the server came by and asked if we were done, we wanted a box: yes, no. then instead of deleting everything he went and back with our ruckus. he took a few tellers back then. I paid toast with the qr code and left. I never had a offer to fill our water, although it was empty. eating was good, but nothing near what it was earlier than we visited in past. we had caught over the kitchen and service for our friends, but unfortunately we will not recommend this facility now and beyond I do not think it will be a place where we will return in the future.
Though it was not a dinner restaurant the portions were too small for the price. The sardines on toast was pretty good but the gnocchi was overcooked. Overall, wouldnât come back unless for wine and snacks.
Excellent first experience! Food was very tasty and service was great! It was a wonderful place to celebrate my husbandâs birthday!
Let me start by saying the food was wonderful. I would especially recommend the Halibut Dip with housemate chips. So good! What wasn't good was our service from the moment we arrived. The person who eventually greeted us was far from friendly. The main restaurant was empty and only two patio table were filled and we had a reservation. We were told they were all reserved although the website says you cannot reserve an outdoor table. She told us you can call the day of to get a patio table. We then asked for a table right next to the patio and she told us it was also reserved but she would see what she could do. She then disappeared for about five minutes and when she came back she reluctantly gave us that table. We felt from the first moment we arrived that she did not think we belonged in her restaurant as we are in our 70's. She was also our server and rarely gave us even a tiny smile. It's a good thing the food was so wonderful. By the time we left only three of the patio tables had diners so we easily could have been accommodated. Not sure if we will return because Seattle has many excellent restaurants.
Very nice place. no view. way too expensive just like most places of this quality.
