El Cabo Verde - Shreveport

This upscale Mexican restaurant always provides a delightful dining experience. The only downside is the bill, but the quality of the food and service quickly make up for it. Well done, my friends!

This restaurant is completely gluten free!!! It was an amazing experience! The intimate setting allowed for attentive service from dedicated staff. Every dish was skillfully made and a pleasure to eat. One of our dinner companions has a severe gluten intolerance and had a truly enjoyable, stress-free meal. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free. This restaurant was absolutely amazing! During a long cross-country road trip from San Diego to North Carolina, we were craving authentic Mexican food from back home. It's difficult to find good Mexican food in the South, but we discovered this gem thanks to Gluten Dude. The chef is from Oaxaca, and the food did not disappoint! I ordered the flautas de pollo, something I hadn't been able to have since my celiac diagnosis. To my surprise, they were really gluten-free and tasted just like the real deal. The texture and flavor were spot on, bringing me back to simpler times of enjoying food without worrying about gluten. We also stopped by on our way back to California and tried the sampler plate, which was equally delicious. This place could easily compete with restaurants in San Diego, so stumbling upon it in Louisiana was a pleasant surprise. The chef deserves all the credit! I can't wait to visit again in the future.

The only downside is that it's always busy, but that's a positive for every other reason. The salsas are always very fresh and delicious, with one warm and one cold. It may be pricey, but I always feel like it's worth every penny. I give the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect 5 out of 5.
