Customers have expressed disappointment in the service, particularly on special nights like fried chicken night. Some found the restaurant stingy and lacking in customer-friendliness. However, others praised the food, drinks, and atmosphere, with one customer calling it perfect. Regulars have enjoyed the unique experience at Jackie's, appreciating the decor, bar, and staff. Despite the closure, customers are hopeful for the owner's new project. Jackie's closure highlights issues with restaurant support in Montgomery County.
Too bad our last night at Jackie's was a disappointment. We knew it was fried chicken night which has great food!, but we didn't realize that you can't even order extra sides. This meant that we had to order a chicken dinner for our vegetarian friend, and she couldn't even eat the kale because it had bacon! Then, to make it worse, they wouldn't even give us an extra biscuit or more potato salad. Very disappointing. It felt like they were being very stingy. We've been going to Jackie's for more than years to celebrate birthdays, etc in the neighborhood. We were sad it was leaving, but now we feel like we're ready to move on. Hopefully Jackie's new restaurant will be more customer friendly, especially for vegetarians on ANY night
Our server was friendly and helpful. We hope another great restaurant will occupy this space in the near future
Jackie's will be missed glad I had the chance to enjoy it one last time. Food and drinks were fantastic but service was slow and not very attentive even though many tables were empty. Looking forward to the new restaurant opening
My latest meal at Jackie's underscored why I will miss it when it closes it's Silver Spring location. The Truffle Cheese Fries were the devil's temptation. The sea bass was perfect. Think I have to get back one more time before the end of the month
Poor service. Waited over an hour for food on the chicken special night. People seated after us were served before we were. Waitress was awesome and apologetic, but could not motivate the kitchen staff to get our food. She offered to have the manager come over that took another half hour. He was gruff, rude, and pretty much dismissive. He basically told us if we weren't happy to just leave. No charge for the dinners but it still left a bad feeling. I guess when you are within two weeks of closing you don't feel you need return customers
