Great vegan dégustation at a reasonable price! Great staff and nice atmosphere. Been there a few times and definitely going to be coming back! Was especially touching that the staff took a photo of us with their Polaroïd camera, what a lovely idea! View all feedback.
What Luke Janga doesn't like about Red Cabbage Food + Wine:
The food looked tasted OK but the price was a bit steep I thought. There was very little on the big plate sides like Vegetables were an extra $9. When they came the only thing on the plate was a circle of Broccoli. View all feedback.
A very casual fine dinning restaurant... For the first time, the entrance is on the main road and therefore you need to park a road in front of Bowman) if I don't get wrong, but it just 2 minutes walk from there. The restaurant is spacious and sufficiently illuminated for a romantic dinner. Some of the fine dinning places in the city have just enough lighting to see the food on the plate. The decor is acceptable and crisp. The first thing I noticed was the staff. Dressed casual typical Aussie style shirt) but they knew what they did and manierism spoke very good and perfect. We chose a six course menu. Pair of things that were above the menu were the balance of taste and portion size. We started scallops and they were cooked to perfection. We moved on to the onion pakoras that could have been a bit hot, but to every Indian palette a lot hot is not enough) The highlight was the lamb shoulder with their melt in the mouth taste it was beautiful. Our compliments to the cook. Personally, the Dessert options weren't for me because I'm not too fond of Pumpkin Pie or Caramel Custard. The cheese plate was a good alternative for me. The wine list had some good wines that were important to us. Overall, it was an experience that lets us go back.
Absolutely loved the degustation menu! It was a lovely combination of flavours and the service was great.
I really enjoyed the Christmas tasting menu. It was my first time to eat here. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The courses were quite well taken. A few extra things were included in the spirit of Christmas. The flavors were interesting and the courses were presented beautifully. The tasting was good value for money and the portions were a good size. The experience was not immaculate, although the chairs did not have fun at the end of the night. A hearty dish was too salty for our taste. The main dessert was a bit too heavy for our pleasure. My stand was the Panna Cotta (I never had one of these amazing), the scallops and the pig bell (so delicious).
The experience was made exceptional by the service. We were uncertain about the choices on the tasting menu and decided to choose from the a-le-carte until the waitress offered the opportunity to change parts of the tasting for things we want. Even until switching the blue cheese for other cheeses! Excellent flexibility. Each part of the tasting was brought out at all intervals and each course was a new experience! Waitresses were great and not to your face! A place for a special occasion.
They were here at least once a year for the last 5 years. Eating is always amazing. The chef Scott O’Sullivan has a wide range of talents in his chef repertoire. I have tasted a number of elements, including West, Asia, Indian and Europe, it is very rare to find a cook that can be awarded at once in all these areas. Many of his dishes contain gastronomic techniques and I am really amazed every time I dine here. The tasting menu is the menu that I would recommend when you come here. It is very good price for perth and the received value is worth it. Every time I'm here, I'm privileged to try Scott's signature dish C H E S E Cashel Blue, Pumpkin White Chocolate, Cheddar Pear (the description taken from his menu. Please never remove this from your tasting menu! Thank you.
