Coming from the UK my wife and I are looking for the closest we can get to an "English" Indian Curry. You have to understand that curry house dishes vary according as to what area of India the chef is from. For instance the very same dish cooked by a chef from Northern India will taste somewhat different when cooked by a chef from Souther India.I asked for a "Madras" ... and yes, it did taste different to an "English"... A girlfriend and I shared an entrée, main and rice last week and were underwhelmed with all three. The Onion Bhatia had no flavour, our curry, a Lamb Saagwala was more sauce than lamb and the rice just ok. We wondered why there was no one else in the restaurant at the time and now we guess that the locals have wised up and moved on and we shall do the same. View all feedback.
I used a Groupon deal for this restaurant last Saturday night and I was pleasantly surprised by the nice decor and welcoming atmosphere. The service was very friendly, and you could tell the owner has a passion for their food. The Vegetable Samosa and Pakoras were perfectly cooked and I must say they serve the best Samosa I've ever had. The Chicken Korma and Navarathan Korma with Plain Pulao and Kashmiri Naan were outstanding. The naan was crispy on the outside with a slightly sweet taste from the dried fruits, and soft on the inside. Overall, the experience really highlighted the best of Indian cuisine. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant to other food enthusiasts.
Very authentic Indian food at Indian Whisper. My favourite saag paneer (spinach and home made cottage cheese) and rogan josh. Naan are freshly made, crispy outside n soft inside. Lovely n friendly stuff here.
Amazing experience!Great place with quality service and food..Love the vegetarian options-kadai paneer, navratan korma and the rice dishes are always so good.Tasted the lamb biryani with raita on my last visit and it was really good. Great standard, very impressed.
Superb food quality!Me and my girlfriends often visit this place and it has never failed to deliver quality service. The Lamb Rogan Josh is a must order whenever we are here. I love the Lamb Vindaloo too. It just melts in the mouth. Last time I was here I tried Butter Chicken with Kashmiri Naan and it was very yum,one of the girls ordered Kashmiri Kofta which is a vegetarian dish and that turned out great with Vegetable Biryani. The Banana split made for a great dessert option.
Great food! Great ambiance! Was here last week with my wife and daughters for a weekend dinner. The place seemed nice with a warm ambiance. We ordered tandoori chicken and seekh kabab for entrees. The waiting staff was pretty efficient and we got the dishes in couple of minutes.Me and my wife had tasted Indian before but it was the first time for our girls and they simply enjoyed every bit of it.There was a perfect balance of spicy, tangy and smokiness in the meat and we immediately placed the dinner order of Kashmiri pulao,Beef Vindaloo and Kashmiri kofta. On it's arrival the vindaloo appeared very rich but the moment I tasted,it was perfect, the best one I have had so far!The girls rooted for the Kashmiri pulao and Kofta as they were subtler on the tastebuds.Going the authentic Indian way,the kheer was our choice to fulfill the appetite for the day, beautiful flavours of the fragrant rice and the dry fruits complemented it so well. All in all,a great place to hav a hearty meal and enjoy time with family.
