the best in camberwell. every time I eat here, it was always a consistently high standard. it is much better than other local outliers. it serves clean, authentic, fresh and tasty dishes. the charming family that runs the restaurant is always very attentive and offers a great culinary experience. I would recommend the crispy pancakes and the roasted tofu with chilli mouthwater! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lamoon:
transformation didn't go well. in the first instance this place was beautiful because it was a seat in the restaurant that served during the nominal hours full menu choices. then it changed to the buffet service with everything they can eat' angle. problems are now deleted by experience, but the first weeks of buffet style served led to food that is still in the process of warming up when the doors opened for the bus... Very good value food good great selection service friendly very clean. I discovered it by accident and I am glad that I did.
Came here with a couple of friends last night and it was so lovely! Nicer atmosphere than most buffet style places, felt more like a restaurant and we were quite comfortable staying there for a while after our meal just chatting and drinking. Great value at £8 each for as much food as you like and bottles of wine were only a tenner!! The food tasted really homemade and fresh rather than like a greasy takeaway, didn’t feel sluggish afterwards just felt satisfied. Everything I ate was nice especially the chicken curry and my friend loved the salt chilli squid. They even had some nice banoffee cake for dessert! It seems to be a family-run place and every member of staff was so lovely and friendly! Would definitely go back again and would recommend to anyone :
Came here for something to eat while a family member was in hospital nearby. Particularly enjoyed the salt and chilli squid. The range of dishes is fairly modest, and the quality is reasonable, especially given the price. The crispy chicken was the only disappointment; a bit too dry and tough.
This is not posh. The buffet is £6.99 and has a canteen feel to it. No fuss service but friendly and efficient. About 20 dishes to pick from. They were all fine bar a couple that were a bit watery, but if you want a cheap, quick feed then this place is fine. Had two big plates, a little ice cream dessert and a coke for £7.99 which suited me.
This small buffet restaurant located on Denmark Hill is charming. The staff appears friendly at first, but then becomes overly attentive, which can be annoying while trying to dine. The homemade sushi rolls are a delightful addition. However, they are not great at replenishing food - leaving untouched dishes to go cold or neglecting to refill empty plates, like cakes. The noodle and curry dishes are tasty. The bathroom is kept fairly clean. There were suspicions of staff quoting different prices to customers.
