Great food, very friendly staff, Franco the chef recommended the fritto misto, it was excellent and the waitress recommended the tiramisu, made by the chef's wife, it was so fresh and great coffee flavours. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Old School Trattoria:
Dinner for 6 with a variety of entrees to share and main courses of fish , steak was just fine. Couldn’t fault any of the dishes-liked pasta best. But wasn’t great considering the cost of the mains. It’s a pity- would expect more paying high 30s for the mains. Place was quaintly interesting with its decor. I guess I won’t be going back too often..... View all feedback.
We discovered that this restaurant was ideal for our family of five to commemorate a high school graduation. The food was scrumptious, with the best calamari I've ever tasted, and the service was excellent. We will definitely return.
We were recommended to try this restaurant when we were in the area and we were happy that we decided to go. The name of the restaurant suggests an old school house, which adds to its charming and cozy atmosphere. The menu had so many tempting options that it was hard to choose, but the dishes we ultimately ordered were delicious. We ended up trying four different dishes and a dessert, all of which had a comforting, home-cooked feel to them. We definitely plan on returning in the future.
I had an amazing experience at Old School Trattoria! The Chef and staff were fantastic, and the food was delicious. I loved it so much that I've already invited a friend to join me for lunch today. I can't wait!
Good variety in the menu. Pleasant cooperative staff. Parking at the door. Bookings recommended. BYO wine. Good quality food. Nice ambience. Interestingly we booked for 7.30. When we arrived the place was full. When we left at about 10, the place was empty apart from the staff having their dinner. Obviously St Ives people dine early.
Haven’t been here for a while and noticed they celebrated 25 years in business recently. The trattoria is always a go to place when you want a really good meal and can’t be bothered to think of somewhere. It was my birthday and couldn’t decide where to go, so off to the Old School House Trattoria. It’s a St Ives icon. Our meals were excellent and they even catered for my vegan daughter. It’s family run, very relaxed and food is consistently good. They have been in business for 25 years I think that speaks volumes for what they do.
