I. all had bruschetta as an appie, and for eating I decided to order something I had not had for years, the most praised tagliatelle! it was excellent and I had it with the gigi sauce. I can't... What Beryl Upton doesn't like about Nello's Fine Italian Dining:
Ordered food for a meeting. They never delivered it and did not let us know they couldn't fill order. The most unprofessional business. Tries to support local. Too bad View all feedback.
This is a great Italian restaurant in st. albert and has a great personal and atmosphere. / eating is very good and the decoration inside, although very Italian, is a little much. / I really enjoyed myself here.
Good Italian food and nice atmosphere. I've been here a few times and found the food very tasty and the service ok. Will be back.
It has been years since we went to Nellos. The place was hopping. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to sit us after promptly cleaning a table. The room is quite large with a bar at the far end near the kitchen. The decor is tired. The tablecloths are plastic and the seating isn't very comfortable. It's not a room I would want to spend hours in. All that being said our hostess and waitress were very pleasant. The menu is limited approx 6-8 appetizers and approx 8-10 pasta selections. They offer several salads as well. They always have specials. Appetizers are priced up to $18 and I believe the most expensive pasta dish was $33. The portion sizes are huge you can definitely share everything and leave satisfied. They offer 3 choices for sauce with their pasta, red, white and Gigi which is a combination of red/white. We shared a garlic bread with cheese and veal tortellini with a Gigi sauce. The garlic bread was okay nothing special but it was warm and cheesy. The pasta came with red sauce on half and white sauce on half. I mixed it myself. The pasta was mediocre as well. We had a half litre of the house cab which was okay. The waitress poured the entire half litre into 2 glasses rather than leave the carafe we found that odd. Our dinner with tip was approx. $54. If we had a groupon coupon we would of saved some money. I think this restaurant is only okay. Very pedestrian nothing too special. If you want large portion sizes and don't mind paying for mediocre Italian food this is your place.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Nello's Restaurant. Even being very busy, the greeting, service and food during our visit were excellent.Nice atmosphere that caters to both couples and families. Extensive Italian menu, with proper attention to flavours, presentation and generous portions.Definitely recommend Nello's and will be returning.
This restaurant was recommended by a friend who happened to mention that there was usually a coupon on Groupon. The bruschetta was awesome. There were 2 of us and we ended up taking half home. It was just as good a day later. The pasta portions were huge. Again, we took half of it home. The prices weren't outrageous considering the portion size. Food was really good. Only downside was the atmosphere. It was just one open room, fairly small. We were seated in the middle so it was a little awkward. Not very cozy.
