We absolutely enjoyed our afternoon tea. We first toured the house and then headed for tea to celebrate Mother 's Day (US). The staff was very considerate of my request and they added a 'Happy Mother 's Day ' card to her tray when they brought it, and also they had a vegan tray for one member of our group. Great service and delicious sandwiches. Highly recommend. View all feedback.
What Steff Lusher doesn't like about The Reid Brothers:
Tried the sunday lunch. Young man who served it had no idea where to take it, then was rude and aloof when he found us. Seeing as we booked this should not have been difficult. Food was poor. Veg was not family service, even though 3 of us having roast dinner. Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes could shatter teeth. But the small amount of cold congealed gravy was the best. Menu is trying too hard, and the execution... View all feedback.
Excellent on all accounts. Very professional and efficient team who worked well under pressure. When I visited, it was a busy lunchtime on a sunny scorcher day. Staff coped with the queue and didn't lose their cool, served with smile and grace. Plenty of seats outside in the gardens by the pond. Sloped access for wheelchairs. Lovely presentation of food. Good range of teas and bakes, with vegan and gluten free optionsavailable. I had a pot of tea twist lemongrass and coconut. I had the courgette and lime cake and tried one of the specials chocolate yoghurt mousse. Would revisit and would recommend. Thank you to all the staff.
My partner and i recently met up here for lunch with other members of our family and we left thoroughly disappointed with both the service and the food, which may i add was very over priced. Considering we had reserved our table we had to queue up to order , when the food did eventually turn up it came in drips and drabs, my partner and i had the leg of lamb which consisted of a couple of slices of tasteless meat and i must mention the vegetables, a long detailed description of this amazing selection... laughable, carrots ?? I had a quarter or ONE yes one and my partner had the quarter of ONE parsnip, this i found was totally unacceptable for the price we paid. Other members of our party too were equally disappointed , the terrine ... salty cat food, was one description, a small plate of pigeon salad, small ? ..micro i would say. i could go on equally about the attitude of the waiter also but i will leave it here, safe to say we won't be returning.
Had to wait over an hour for food, which didn 't arrive until we complained to a manager. Previously we were told it would come 'next ', but then waited a further 20 mins. We have a 2 year old who was desperately hungry by the time our order arrived. The best bit is it was only 2 small, cold plates and some fish fingers! Would have helped if they had told us the restaurant was in meltdown at the point where we ordered. We wouldn 't have bothered. Saw a few more tables getting full refunds while we were there. We were also fully refunded. The food, when it finally came, was pretty good. I wouldn 't recommend this place at peak times, or for those with kids.
Avoid! Booked a table but an hour later still waiting for the soup.
Went for a mother's day brunch. Had the full English. Was very nice but at £12 was a wee bit expensive for basically a fry up!! And the pot of tea was extra.
