Visiting my boyfriends daughter on a Semester abroad we walked to this cute restaurant and beer garden. Sat in the lovely outdoor beer garden to have some beer and cocktails. Ended up having dinner and was not disappointed. Menu is only in German but we were able to translate with help. Staff really does not speak English but did their best to explain with help from daughter. Allgäu cheese spaetzle-Mac and Cheese was... View all feedback.
What Marc and Kim Z doesn't like about Cafe Anno 1897:
If you want a smoke filled bar, this is it. If you want a place to eat this is it. There’s a door separating the two so not much smoke transfer. We did the restaurant and it was okay. The lamb plate was tasty but too much fat. I had the pork medallion and they were dry. Price was right and service had a bit of an attitude.. might of helped if I was a regular. View all feedback.
We ate here on a Monday evening in late October. We didn't book, and there was only one other occupied table in the dining room (which is reached through the smoking area bar, a curious arrangement for those used to UK non-smoking rules. The smoky bar is separated from the smoking area by swing doors, which were several times left open, so you could smell the smoke from the dining area). We each had flammkuchen, mine was the Traditionell at 8,80 €, properly crispy and tasty enough. My companion had the Vegetarisch, which was a bit soggy due to the veg, but he polished it off with no problem! I had a glass of house red wine, which was unexciting. Overall, OK food, a convenient location, and open on a Monday which was helpful; odd smoking arrangement but that's German state interpretation of the rules for you!
This venue had a very pleasant garden outside garden. We were greeted by a very pleasant lady who spoke excellent English. We were a party of three and each ordered a different lunchtime meal.I ordered the beefburger with cheese and peppers. salad and potato croquet's. The better half ordered Spaghetti Bolognese and our granddaughter Veiner Schnitzel. All three of us really enjoyed our choices and the portions were very generous. The sunshine and ambience were the perfect accompaniments. The service was top class and the wife and I returned two days later. I had turkey steak with trimmings and my wife had the Cheeseburger. A must visit restaurant.
We were in Moehringen for a week and on our way back to the hotel from the tram station on our first night, decided to stop off here, for a swift half. Ended up staying for a few and an evening meal, guess that must say something. It’s a Greek style restaurant that also serves German food. In fact, we brought our friends here the following night for a meal, they were impressed too. We must have stopped by here 8 or 9 times in the week we were in Moehringen. Beer was good, food very good, atmosphere great, friendly staff. One thing though, they allow smoking in the bar area, but you really don’t notice that when in the restaurant. If you get the chance, do visit this place.
Right next to the moehringen metro station, this place should really get two separate reviews. as a restaurant it was pretty ****. They are huge, but they are.
Was safe after an evaluation or two, but this restaurant is good. we had all three excellent meals. we always come to this restaurant.
