Menu offered local favorite dishes and did have a kids menu. The hotel was busy and the staff were short, but they worked hard and were friendly to ensure a good meal. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Commoner, The Cape Bretoner:
The service was quick and great, the decor is nice also. It's the food that left us wanting more. My chicken caesar salad was small for the cost of $13, compared to my mom's fish dinner that got her two fillets and half a plate of over cooked fried for the exact same price. I look forward to breakfast tomorrow morning, as the reviews seem to be great for that meal. View all feedback.
This restaurant offers excellent food at a lower price than other similar establishments. I ordered the pan-roasted squid with a creamy sauce, while my children had mac and cheese with pulled pork. A delightful surprise was the roasted asparagus that came with our meal. The food was outstanding. The atmosphere, while not luxurious, was comfortable, and it seems like the Gas House is on the rise. The service was exceptional, likely due to the lack of many customers. I believe the restaurant would attract more business if people outside the hotel knew about the quality of the food. I typically avoid dining in hotel restaurants, but I'm glad I gave this one a try and will return tonight. Knowing how good it is, I would recommend a visit even if you aren't staying at the gasthof. Plus, it is locally owned.
I went out for my birthday dinner and had the roast turkey with all the traditional fixings- homemade gravy and cranberry sauce. For dessert, I had a delicious crème caramel with a side of coffee. The service was excellent, our server was very sweet and attentive. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
Enjoy a large variety of dishes and locally brewed craft beer on tap at this restaurant! Dining under the stars is a fantastic experience, and both the dining room and pub provide a pleasant atmosphere.
I like the cozy friendly feeling, the atmosphere. Lounge staff are always friendly and friendly. a thing I have to mention here is that the lounge staff remember their costumes from one stay to the next including their favorite drink.
We were staying at the Hearthstone Inn here in Sydney and decided to try the in house to be eating establishment called Rilley's Lounge. We found the décor to be somewhat dated but clean and cozy. Nice touch were the electric lamps on the tables...and comfortable chairs. The menu is very limited with such items as burgers, wings and a few other things. We ordered chicken strips and fries for my wife and I got a special order of chicken wings. Both orders were very good as well as the pricing. Kind of a contrast with the rest of the hotel building. To our understanding the name is to be changed again to Governors Pub Eatery'.
