Had dinner here last night, a Friday, it was quiet, i guess because of the top floor QVB location. We loved the food, we both thought it was the best Chinese we had eaten, possibly ever. Have a bit of trouble believing some of the reviews here, we found the service excellent and the food just fantastic. We will not hesitate to come back here. View all feedback.
What JillHep doesn't like about Fat Buddha Chinese Restaurant:
We purchased a Living Social Voucher for Fat Buddha. When we arrived the bar code on the voucher wouldn 't scan. First disappointment ! Staff and the manager made us feel uncomfortable. Finally they said the will let us order and gave us a menu. We ordered duck and we 're then told they 'd run out. The food was of poor quality. The BBQ pork was dry, hard and expensive $18 for a small amount. The sticky rice was unple... View all feedback.
Stay away. The worst and i mean the WORST ever experience in my life. We booked a birthday party and ended up walking out after 10 minutes. Rude owner and a liar. Yelling at his 2 employees struggling to serve people. We got 1 meal and it was cold and tasted bad. Repeatedly asked for a drink even water and got nothing. I tried to speak to the man who was the owner and he told me the owner was in the office. He went in and out of the office and said the owner is too busy to come out. I went and had a look in the office and no one was there. Stay away from this place.
I had read bad reviews before coming so had very low expectations. Food was meh, not worth the price. Fried rice was okay, the rest were sub par. I thought the steamed rice was the best part of the meal. 'Service' was through gestures with virtually silent waitresses slamming our dishes hurriedly on to the table. Honestly it was not as abyssmal as I expected but we didn't use vouchers so we might have gotten different treament.
If I could give a 0 Rating I would, we bought a Groupon here which was the worst yum cha experience of my life. To start there was only 3 other tables of people so not busy at all, yet they still sat us at a table with a dirty table cloth. After we had been given 7 of our 10 plates, I then had to ASK for napkins, chopsticks and sauces to be able to eat the food. I asked for green tea, suddenly we were given a bill with an extra $9 added to it for tea. Which I promptly cancelled the order for tea because that's absurd for one cup of tea! After we had finished our 5 plates we then waited and waited and waited. Finally we asked about the rest of the food. Manager came out and made marks on bill next to food that hadn't come out, and then we again waited and waited. No food. Finally we got up to leave having enough of waiting. When we asked for the manager to explain how unhappy we were she was almost yelling at us saying our food was being cooked....after 2 hours of waiting pretty sure if we hadn't got the food we were never getting the food. One of the missing plates was the rice for gods sake, what were we supposed to eat it with when all other dished that go with rice had already been finished. The waitress looked exhausted and angry the customer service was HORRIBLE, trolleys were all backed up near our table so much so that as the manager came out with food she ran straight into them and nearly lost her tray. So unorganised and unprofessional. All I can say is DO NOT GO HERE EVER!

You get what you pay for! Remember that phrase? I couldn't think of a better way to describe our yum cha at Fat Buddha. Our friend purchased a voucher for a group of four - for less than $20 each we got 9 courses of yum cha. Sounded like a bargain right? It was easily the worst yum cha I had. We had all the usual suspects- prawn dumplings, scallops spinach dumplings, BBQ pork buns, mango pancakes, etc nothing adventurous everything standard. Yet they all tasted awful or average at best. The dumpling skin was thick, chewy and sticky, the fillings were tasteless, the mango pancake wraps were thick and way too much cream. I was flabbergasted how they could get it so wrong! I certainly won't repeat the same mistake twice and do not recommend it to anyone. thernbdiary.com
