The forced 18% gratuity left a sour taste in their mouths, prompting a scathing review. On the other hand, other diners found the cafe to be a charming spot with good food overall. While some dishes were bland or had minor issues, others raved about the Reuben sandwich and large portions. Great service, fresh bakery items, and efficient operations during busy times were highlighted as positives. The variety of menu options and fair pricing were also noted by happy customers. Overall, the restaurant seems to have a range of experiences, with some facing disappointments while others found it to be a delightful breakfast spot in downtown Tampa.
Had an amazing brunch there this morning! I love that you can order breakfast or lunch all day. I had lunch at 9 am : Try the vegetable panini. It was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! The server was amazing, too! We will back next time we are in town!
If you are in the area and don't stop here, you are missing out!!! We walked here from our hotel and it was a great walk to an even better destination. We were greeted outside where we sat down, I entered and the host gave me menus and told us someone would be with us shortly. Our server which I wish I could remember his name was top notch, so present and happy. Once we ordered it took (in all seriousness) maybe 8 minutes to get our food. Fastest food service for freshly made fantastic food in all my life. The potatoes were scorching and sandwiches the same! Yummy! I order the Cuban and haven't had one equivalent to what this place offers since I lived down in south FL. My husband ordered the Ruben and it must have been good bc I didn't even get a taste before it was gone. We will be back next time we are in town!
Amazing breakfast spot in downtown Tampa. The crepes are yummy and large. The bakery items are made fresh daily mouth watering. Must try the French press coffee. All I can say is WOW
We visited the Tampa Art Museum and made a Saturday afternoon walk on the River Walk. Samaria Cafe was nearby and cheap. We ordered three pages from Ratatouille and a baguette for appetizers. Yum. My wife got the walnut, turkey and brie crepe, I got the philly cheese steak and housefruit, son #4 got the Monte Cristo Sandwich, son #3 got the bride fillet on a skill with fried egg above, and son #2 got the chicken Caesar salad. The chicken in the salad was a bit dry, but the other dishes were all very good. 5 stars more from a walkway dinner with indoor and walkway tables. Not as beautiful as another River Walk tariff, but a third of the price. We will try some of the other funny dishes again. Where else can you get Ratatouille?
The staff was very nice and fast. I recommend the country eggs Benedict with ash-browns...so delicious! The Crepes and the French toast were delicious and also the family says.
