We stopped in this café for a lunch. I picked it based on tripadvisor’s review and was not disappointed. The food was really good. We were a group of 6 people and had a variety of dishes including, butternut squash soup, beef stew, pasta, breakfast sandwich and ginger pear chicken with rice. The only dish that was kind of unusual was a chicken, due to combination of ginger pear, cranberry, seeds and chicken, but agai... View all feedback.
I decided to treat my daughter to breakfast out on her birthday and we chose the Caper Cafe. Entering the Cafe is like visiting a favourite relative. You are warmly welcomed and generously fed. We ordered the English Breakfast; homemade toast, hashbrowns, bacon (or sausage), eggs and coffee. DELICIOUS. Be prepared to stay and chat as everything is made fresh and there is no rush. A wonderful way to spend an hour or so.
We were staying at the Train Station Inn and wanted a place to have breakfast on our way out of Tatamagouche. The owner was very nce the food was really awesome! If you want vegetarian food, this is the place to go in Tatamagouche, but they have meat items as well.
Called in for breakfast while staying down the road. Received a really warm welcome and given a choice of areas to sit. The breakfast menu is good and flexible. Really helpful staff who top up coffee frequently, ask how you want your eggs, tell you when they are about to cook the eggs do you can make your toast etc. Had a lovely tasty breakfast with a lovely chatty hostess to finish off the experience.
This is a very small, comfortable inside dining room with a large deck available in the summer. The lunches we had were very generous and both were excellent. Mary, the owner is charming and very willing to make substitutions in order to tailor a meal to suit her client. If you choose pasta or salad, the menu offers many choices for ingredients. This is definitely a place we will return to. BJ and John
I always enjoy breakfast at Mary's Caper Cafe! Thoughtful touches like heated plates, baked tomatoes, home made gluten free bread and excellent, steaming hot coffee make the experience special. Interesting conversation is on the menu, too!
