We booked for a family Christmas meal, unfortunately it was not up to there usual standard. Our booking was mixed up with someone else's so we had to wait untill that was sorted before we could sit at our table. The steaks were lovely. No complaints at all. The food was cooked perfectly and the staff were extremely helpful. The portion sizes were generous and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We decided to give the Maypole another try when we heard it was under new management, and we're glad we did! The food was hot, cooked perfectly, and there was so much of it. The menu had a lot of choices, but we settled on the 10oz gammon with all the extras - it came with bacon and cheese, and the slow-roasted pork belly. Everything was delicious and affordable. It's definitely an experience we would repeat!
What amazing people, food, and atmosphere! Thank you so much for keeping the little red gloves that were left behind and mean the world to my elderly and dearest friend. I give you 10 stars!
I was not impressed with the Christmas dinner I had last Friday, December 12th. It was very disappointing.
