What User doesn't like about The Rising Sun:
I went for a vegan option with tofu that had been fried. Tofu has a very mild flavour that relies on spices or sauce to gee it up. Unfortunately the flavour of this tofu was of old cooking oil, not even fresh oil! I didn't eat much so rather an expensive dish and when mentioned the waiter didn't seem too concerned. The food at this restaurant is excellent. It is fresh and tasty. We also got some takeout to enjoy later.
Some of the best points about the Rising Sun is the great food and the pub atmosphere. We got booked on both Thai food and the loyalty scheme they run so we do keep coming back! Although we had excellent service from the student who was serving us, so dynamic and engaging. The usual guy and lady were there but not as engaging, suspect down to communication barriers. We had the corner table for 2. It’s just in front of the bench a pillar and quite cramped seating. Will be returning, maybe on a quieter night.
