Winon Chinese Takeaway - Thanet

We enjoy the food at Winon, but during our last visit we were told to pick up our order in half an hour. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, we were informed that it would actually take another 20 minutes. When questioned about the discrepancy, a young man rudely replied that they were busy and offered to show us all the orders. This lack of customer service skills from the current young man working there is disappointing, especially compared to the usual lovely service provided by the young lady and child.

The customer service representative answering the phone needs to be fired. On the evening of 23.9.23, we had to cancel our order after a 2-hour delay for our food. We called twice during that time to check on the progress, and the attitude we received from the representative was unbelievable. When we asked how much longer it would be, he responded with, "I dunno, I'm not a chef am I!" We were shocked and asked him to repeat himself, only to get the same answer. The second time we called, nearing the 2-hour mark, I inquired about the delivery time once dispatched, but he replied with, "I dunno! How am I supposed to know?" It was astonishing to hear such immaturity and disrespect. The girl who answered the phone initially was polite, but once transferred to him, we were appalled by his attitude. I recommend firing him before you lose more customers. We won't be returning until he's gone.

We've always used Winon and the foods always been good. I've even left a previous 4 star review on here. We ordered again last night 1.12.21. It was delivered as usual. The driver informed us that they have now changed ownership and the food is even better. So thought we'll be the judge of that. He was absolutely correct. They've gone from good to excellent. Highly recommend them.

Thoroughly great Chinese food. I order the same thing. Crispy aromatic duck, crispy aromatic lamb and crispy seaweed. I’ve now got my friend in Ramsgate ordering too (first order last Wednesday eve, she was equally impressed) Meat tastes freshly cured to maturity and the main thing is, it has taste, texture and quality one expects from the dishes you’ve probably eaten in soho. Delivery driver always courteous and friendly.

I ordered takeout for delivery and was told it would take 45 minutes. An hour and a half passed and there was still no sign of the delivery. Even worse, they stopped answering the phone. The delivery finally arrived after 2 hours. When the delivery driver arrived, we informed them that we no longer wanted the food and explained why. The driver mentioned that they had been busy with orders and had turned off the phone earlier. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing and I will not be ordering from them again.
