Cardinal Rule - Toronto

Cardinal Rule is a lovely neighbourhood restaurant that has many veg and vegan options. The restaurant is cozy with booths or tables to suit all kinds of group sizes. The staff are great and very attentive to dietary needs and concerns. I had a difficult time deciding between the vegan mac and cheese and the veggie burger...but as I felt like fries, the veggie burger made more sense. It was delicious! I will definitely be back to try the vegan brunch and the mac and cheese. I highly recommend!

We picked this restaurant for a birthday meal as it has both Gluten-Free and Vegan options. Our meals arrived about the same time as the cockroaches began appearing down the walls onto our seats and table. After seeing four roaches in quick succession, we decided it was time to leave. The worst part is we barely touched our food but we were only provided a small token discount on the food bill. Shame on you and your dirty restaurant. We will NOT be going back there.

We hit the lineup at the right time and spent only a few minutes before being seated. In had the wallop burger and my wife had the classic vegan breakfast. The food was better than before which was pretty damn good. The only knock we have is that service once seated was slow. Due to the place being full that was to be expected however another server wouldn't hurt. Happy six yrs CR which coincided with our own 6th wedding anniversary today. See you next time folks. I took my daughter for dinner at this restaurant a couple of days ago. I picked this restaurant as it had an extensive vegetarian options and also meat lovers choices. This is good for us as my daughter is vegetarian and I like meat. I had the Brisket Panni and my daughter had the Mixed Greens and the Sweet Potato Fries. My sandwich did not come with a side. The food was tasty but my plate had a chip out of it, which kind of put me off. They also have draft beer with the actual draft beer glass for the type of beer, which my daughter enjoyed. The service was good. The decor is down scale diner and it had some interesting art on the wall. I found that the music was a bit loud and it was hard to hear each other. Even though the food and service was good, this restaurant really is not for me! There are nicer places in the area.
