La poissonnerie moderne - Trèbes

Highly recommended. Beautiful tuna, salmon and muscles. Very attentive and quick service, traditional French cuisine. Would definitely return.

Sadly the service from the waitress, (daughter of the owner, incredulously), was exceedingly rude. I am a frequent visitor to Trebes, being a home owner, and my French is improving, but I didn't understand the explanation of the fish of the day. When I said I didn't understand, she simply shouted it in French louder. I therefore beckoned the owner, who also only used the sane words in French. The waitress then came over to say it was like cod. Why did she not just say that when I asked??? For a restaurant to have repeat business they pught to be polite, and explain things to foreigners. It is simply their job, to help their customers to understand their menu. We had ordered pichet of Rosé wine, which, on arrival, looked like white. So I politely asked if it was Rosé, to be shouted at by the waitress that it was a pale rosé. We decided to leave, so I went inside to pay for the wine. Another customer, who was French, and had been sitting next to us, followed me inside to emphasise how badly we had been treated. Having eaten before, the food was very good, but good food with very bad service is not a good Mediocre food and fantastic service gets repeat customers. People who are made to feel stupid will never return. This restaurant is clearly thriving on the summer business from the boats on the canal du midi that will only visit once! Very disappointed.

We went for lunch this afternoon at the Restaurant La Poissonnerie Moderne au Bord du Canal in Trèbes, part of the Groupe le Patrimoine de St. André de Roquelongue, which chose this restaurant.... I think it's an excellent choice: friendly restaurant, Clean, Good welcome, Choice of varied dishes, Presentation of dishes in beautiful and copious fish shaped plates, Excellent cuisine, for my part, I had Goat Salad as a starter then the Skate served with fries , delicious and tasty salad and small vegetables, and crème brulée for dessert then verbena/mint infusion... Delicious fish, fresh and tasty, tasty products, excellent cuisine Congratulations to the Cook and the entire Family team! Good value for money: Starter Main Course Dessert Coffee for around €25/person Correct... Friendly welcome in a family setting, and very clean WC and nicely decorated Zen which smelled good. Very nice and pleasant waitress... For my part, I am very satisfied with this restaurant located on the edge of the canal in Trèbes, a very pleasant place, and I highly recommend above all, don't change anything!!!! See you soon because I will happily come back to eat with you without hesitation and I will also talk about your restaurant and recommend it in Trèbes! THANKS....
