However, recent menu changes have left some disappointed as classic pub items have been removed and prices are high. Despite this, the staff remains friendly and accommodating. The beautiful atmosphere and charming setting make it a popular spot for families, golfers, and special occasions. The restaurant offers a variety of dining options, from casual pub grub to upscale fusion cuisine. Overall, while the menu changes have caused some concern, Windermere House remains a beloved destination for those seeking a picturesque dining experience in Ontario.
My recent dining experience at Windermere House's patio, with a view of the lake, was delightful. The staff provided excellent service from seating to meal delivery. I particularly enjoyed the Miso Soup and Sushi Rolls, which were delicious and served promptly. We preferred not to dine indoors at this time, so this outdoor dining experience made for a lovely afternoon. Thank you!
We only dined at Windermere, as we originally considered staying there but found it to be too formal and outdated, reminiscent of the resort in Michael Ondaatje's novel, "Skin of an Lion." It felt like a place stuck in another era and just wasn't our style. We decided to dine at Baldwin's Resort nearby instead, and we were pleasantly surprised.
I haven't been to this pub in years. I used to go here often, but the quality has decreased while the prices have increased. Tonight, I had the fish and chips and they were terrible. The food tasted like it had been left out in the rain. When will the owners/managers do something about this place? You can't continue serving such poor quality food. Based on the majority of the reviews, I'm not the only one who feels this way!
Went for lunch with another couple. Had fish and chips. Chef more interested in presentation over practically. Served on a very narrow board. When cut the fish half of it fell on the table with the sauce upside down. Don’t know how clean the table...was so made the meal very unappetizing. The food was way over priced for pub fare. My wife had a latte and it was more expensive than my beer. The others said their meat was tough and dry. I would not recommend this pub to anyone. The only positive was that the waitress was excellent.
Typical pub food served by friendly wait staff, primarily students working here for the summer. Great patio location
