My partner and I, along with another couple, were fortunate enough to attend the relaunch event. We were pleasantly surprised by the impressive transformation of the restaurant. The decor was of a high standard, and even the bathrooms were lovely. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and ended the evening by sharing the delicious "bird cage." I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. View all feedback.

I returned to the Red Lion after hearing about the new chef. After trying the new bar menu and food, I can confidently say that it offers excellent value for the price!
The pub has new landlady and the pub has been refurbished (2019) Good meals and good choice. Lovely gardens and comfortable seating both indoors and out. A quiet area to eat (dining room) if required although plenty of seating near the bar and outside. Great sunday lunch available. I found everyone very friendly and liked the fact that if you didnt want to hear loud music there were quiet areas to sit. Good large carpark.
We thought we'd try out the new offerings from the new owners and I'm glad we did. The menu is small and has some really good lunch options. They told us they are going to gradually build it up, a really nice start. Lots of doorstop sandwich options and toasties too. The salad was very fresh and full of veriety including a few delicious strawberries. We both had doorstops, mine cheese and pickle and my friends, ham cheese and tomato. Bread was nice and thick and the fillings the same, proper cheddar and the ham was thick too. Can't forget the few crisps on the side. I'll be back for more and am quite excited about seeing what they add to the menu!
I have driven past this place for the last 10 years and always wondered what it was like. Today we stopped in for what promised to be a home cooked Sunday lunch. The most unwelcoming atmosphere when we entered. Locals only obviously as you can’t get past the short man syndrome blokes at the bar to get a drink. I persevered and was given my round of drinks albeit fighting for a space at the 6 person occupied bar. Advertising boards outside promoting food but not a single table inside with anyone eating anything but tobacco should have been a warning to us when we came in. We drank our drinks and left. Getting in the car and leaving some bloke in a Honda CRV was having a go at me for parking in His space. Okay no probs. You won’t have that problem again. Don’t need to say it but won’t go back.
