Contribute FeedbackSai Woo Restaurant in Vancouver's Chinatown district is a hidden gem that offers a modern and elegant dining experience. While some customers have expressed disappointment in the service and pricing, others have had a great experience. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with unique dishes, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and generous portion sizes. Some highlights include the Chinese paella, fried chicken, and whole Bronzino. Overall, Sai Woo is recommended for those looking for a unique and adventurous dining experience in Vancouver.
The restaurant is located in the China Town district of Vancouver. I start by saying that I didn't like the neighborhood very much, but this restaurant really surprised me. Looking at it from the outside it looks like the classic Chinese tavern, but inside it reveals a modern and elegant furniture. The waitress is very nice and helpful. The menu is complete with everything. We asked her to recommend some dishes, including a very good Chinese paella. The restaurant has an open kitchen which I personally love. Great beer and spectacular desserts! Absolutely to try ...!
So glad to have found this gem! We loved the menu suggestions from the waitress! She was a delight - very friendly and engaging, and talked us into interesting drinks and dessert of course! This was a fun night and a great meal. Not your typical Asian fare, much more adventurous in flavors! Would definitely go here again. Highly recommended.
I had to find a venue to host my birthday dinner but was traveling at the time and was unable to talk on the phone. However, Salli was really good at replying through emails really quickly making the set up super simple. I had a group of 18 girls and ordered the $25 canapes meal option (cauliflower dish, noodle dish and porky belly dish - family style and their cauliflower dish is AMAZING). Salli even tied foil star balloons around my table which made it extra special - super sweet. Tracey was our server for the night and she's the most pleasant server, just really warm and had really great drink recommendations. Overall really pleasant experience and I would definitely reccomend. Their drinks are really tasty :)
The food is delicious, not too over priced but not cheap as well. The restaurant itself is nice and clean. The location is good and parking is not too hard to find. The drinks are a little overpriced and I didn't find it special. We ordered variety of food and shared it amongst everybody.
I think I've said it all in the title of my review! The beauty of this restaurant can only be felt when you are standing inside. The design of the restaurant is very inviting with the open kitchen in the back, where you can view the chefs making your meal, if you so desire! The presentation of the food was wonderful! The service was second to none! Our server was polite, flexible personality that gelled with everyone at our table. There was 5 of us at this dinner and everyone enjoyed their meal! Excellent work SAI WOO! Thank you for the great dining experience in Chinatown! I wouldn't expect a restaurant of this caliber to be in Chinatown! Everything was so clean! Karin Sahota
