Diva At The Met - Vancouver

Problem is the cost of the breakfast is probably right for excellent hotel but an even better place only a couple of hundred yards from the hotel, a little Vietnamese cafe does an excellent breakfast for half the cost, well recommended.

We ate dinner and breakfast twice during a recent stay at the Metropolitan. We had originally planned to eat our meals across the street at the Four Seasons, but the offerings at the Diva changed our minds. Meals are prepared in an open kitchen for all to view. Dishes are prepared with high quality ingredients, sometimes adding something a "little extra" for a delightful experience. For our first dinner, my husband and I split a Diva Roll for the appetizer followed by seafood entrees for the main course. I'm normally not crazy about sushi and sashimi, but the Diva Roll was a fantastic blend of flavors! We were so pleased with the delightful and filling Diva Roll that we each ordered a Diva Roll as the main course on a subsequent visit. Their bread is so good, too, it's hard to pass up refills (so be warned). The Diva offers a Continental Buffet at breakfast, which consists mainly of a selection of breads and pastries, but we elected to order off the menu. At both breakfast visits I ordered the wonderful egg white omelet, which was very filling and stuffed with great ingredients, while my husband was pleased with a typical American breakfast of eggs and meats. My omelet was served with toast and a very tasty assortment of high quality marmalade and jams. Yum!

This restaurant has it all. Its fresh menu has not disappointed me in my four visits over seventeen years. The wine list is extensive. The service is outstanding. And the décor is elegant.

Had very good meal at Diva. Probably the best fish of our Canada trip. Starters and desserts were also good. Service excellent. Shame the restaurant was very quiet. Decent breakfast available.
