What User doesn't like about Dixie's BBQ:
Went for Sunday lunch with my daughter having walked by this place for years. (It never seems very crowded which is usually a signal!).I ordered fried chicken which was two small pieces of boneless thigh. It was tasty but crazily over salted. I'd say that at $8 it has to rate as quite pricey as well. My daughter's mac and cheese with pulled pork (pork mixed right in,) was yucky. The pasta was very undercooked: not 'a... View all feedback.
Best BBQ house in town, in my opinion! Highly recommend to all [if you're not a boring and lame Vegan, of course]. <br/ <br/ Probably the best pulled pork I've ever tasted, along with delicious ribs and the fried chicken is up there, with my ultimate favorite ..LA Chicken in Richmond. <br/ <br/ Pass on the biscuits, and get all cornbread! Oh ..and don't forget to order extra of their homemade gravy it goes well with everything :
Easily the best BBQ I've had in Vancouver. In fact, it is on the same level as highly regarded restaurants I've visited in Texas and New Orleans. I can't give a higher compliment than that. As for BBQ restaurants in Seattle and Calgary that I've tried, Dixie's is on another planet. There is love and attention to detail in this food. For example, they use three kinds of wood in the smoker. We tried the brisket, ribs, and a regular link. All perfect as were the coleslaw, potato salad and pickle sides. Pecan pie with maple whipped cream was excellent. The staff were very friendly, attentive and enthusiastic about the BBQ wonders on offer. Portions and prices are very fair. Look forward to returning. Highly recommended!
Came here today for first time. The BBQ was beyond good and probably the best I've had in Vancouver ! The sides are really good for three bucks Each. The sweet tea is homemade and so yummy will be back for sure ! A+
I've only been here for brunch so far and have enjoyed it each time. Staff is friendly, and the portion size is decent for the price. Small menu, but good quality food. What else can you want? Hopefully more people show up to enjoy this place, as it's been pretty quiet on each visit.
My partner is a fan of a good barbecue. We have been to a few all around the Lower Mainland, so today we were giving “Dixie’s” on Hastings a try. They are known for their Texas style barbecue and show their allegiance through the restaurant’s decor. It has a well themed rugged look with a worn wood pallet ceiling, a wagon wheel chandelier, and red brick and sheet metal walls.
