One of the best Italian restaurants in Vancouver! We came here to celebrate our anniversary and had an excellent experience. The food and service was exquisite! The staff was very kind, and knowledgeable. I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to friends and family, and we will definitely be coming back again! Thank you for such an amazing experience and dinner. View all feedback.
What Joseph Griffin doesn't like about La Piazza Dario Italiano:
Service was friendly, but slow and became inattentive after taking the order. Went half the meal without a water refill or quality check, and took a while to flag someone for more water.Prawn appy, although small in portion, tasted delicious and rich.Pistachio Fettuccini pistachio flavor was too mild for my taste, but the pasta itself had a very nice bite. I frankly do not understand the last three reviews of this restaurant. My partner and I dined with our nephew and his wife yesterday evening, and had a wonderful time. The service was superb; three servers took good care of us. Our main waiter was Italian and regaled us with stories about his childhood and family in Italy, and reinforced the importance of cuisine in that culture. The manager served us wine, and we greatly enjoyed the feature wines that he had imported from Italy, not available anywhere else in BC to my knowledge. And the food was delicious. We all enjoyed our starters stracciatella, minestrone, calamari and a salad. The vitello al limone and al portobello were exquisite, with a perfect sauce and tasty side vegetables. The pasta dishes were greatly enjoyed. The evening was a most enjoyable experience.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Prices were reasonable. The food was plated to look like fine dining, but tasted like home cooking. I don’t know if this is considered fine dining, but it’s very close. It was good quality, but not the highest. Very filling, large portions. A single appetizer, pasta, and main were enough for 2 people. Good value for money. Will come back.

Authentic Italian eatery! Family run drive day one, this lovely restaurant has all the classics and some perfect west coast additions, done with a fine Italian twist. The spaghetti and meatballs will fill your stomach and warm your heart.Service is so very friendly, you'll feel like family after your first visit.
The experience at this restaurant was dreadful. The waiter threw dirty menus at us and walked away. The service was terrible. When we asked for the dessert menu, the waiter scolded us, saying that the place is meant for lunch. Even finding a seat outside was a problem for the waiter. When I received shrimp in soup, it was difficult to get a spoon, which was also problematic. There was a lack of bread as well. We have visited many restaurants in Italy, but this place had nothing to do with Italian cuisine. It lacked atmosphere and professionalism. It was the worst Italian restaurant we have ever been to. It was a disgrace.
