Contribute FeedbackHal's restaurant offers a mixed experience, with some patrons raving about the high-quality food, creative cocktails, and pleasant atmosphere, while others are disappointed by service mishaps or food quality issues. The menu is praised for its variety, including excellent brunch options and innovative dishes like shrimp Paella and Pineapple spicy margarita. The outdoor seating is a hit with many diners, while some comments suggest a preference for the original Hal's on Abbot Kinney. Overall, the restaurant is a solid choice for those seeking a cozy ambiance, good food, and reasonable prices away from the hustle and bustle of other popular dining spots in the area.
I enjoyed the whole atmosphere and atmosphere of the restaurant. the keilsalat is great. I will be back
Hal’s is still one of our favorite restaurants. we love to sit in the terrace and enjoy our meal outdoors. Eat and service are always top notch! highly recommended!
Casual neighborhood restaurant with pleasant patio, consistently good food, and reasonable prices. A fine option instead of the trendy, overpriced, noisy, crowded restaurants on Abbot Kinney. Has been around for many years, and survived the changing neighborhood.
They were from several menu points. the starters came only after our escaped. overall poor service and mediocre food.
The second time as a reviewer. wife, I and golden retriever bodhi had dinner here tonight (11/14/18). drinks, fried calamari and caesar salate to begin. salat over dressed and calamari a little greasy, but no real complaining. my wife had a great order of beautified garnel that was really good. I ordered a dish called grilled MARY’S organic chicken, which, sad was neither mary nor half. it was a lump made of carburized, dried-out chicken with a wing light-to-be-kissed bone and no recognizable skin or taste. I gave our waiter immediate feedback and he returned with the “manager” who continued to explain that despite the apparitions it was actually a half-hew. he related that the kitchen had a unique method of removing almost all bones before it grilled. they offered me another choice that I rejected because my wife had already begun her main course. bodhi enjoyed the most “chickens”. what annoyed me most was not only the terrible fowl, but the deceptive description and absolutely ridiculous explanation in reaction to my complaining. pity, nicer place. they were warned, we will not go back
