What Jessica Kerluke doesn't like about Dan B. - La Table de Ventabren:
Service is not at par with a one star michelin, no smiling, a bit too pushy. Food was good of course but the size of the piece of beef that we had for main dish was ridiculously small like 3 by 1 centimeter. We invited...our friends for their 40’s birthday and they wrote us they would put a candle on their dessert, they did not. For that price (500 euro at 4) I am disappointed by the experience. Second time in this starred restaurant. a marvel! from the charming village where it is located, from the incredible setting with a breathtaking view that is worth the detour alone, from the successful global design of the room, from the professional team, smiling and welcoming to the dishes offered, both delicious, creative and surprising, everything is absolutely perfect. The michelin star means something. Let you try with one of the menus (wood, concrete.) for me, I succumbed to the concrete menu. This restaurant is worth a visit!

Everything starts on the phone. I had a waitress twice. first time to book and a second time to confirm my reservation on the day I. the waitress has been very kind. It's not a big thing. But it starts here. once you arrive at ventabren (beau village in the way), a small walk is required because there is no parking at the restaurant level. Clearly, it's not worse, it avoids sound and even visual discomfort. the reception was very nice. 2 points seized us when we returned. The room that is really beautiful and the view! we were installed on the edge (at the nearest view) as desired in my reservation. Unfortunately 2 points (which are clearly not the fault of the restaurant) we have a little disappointed. at the level of the view, we see the plants to bend the pond. For the time being, it's very glamorous. another point, the heat. sincerely I made the effort to put pants. it was simply a supplication throughout the meal .the menus: error or not. prices are displayed on all menus. be it on the one who invites or even the guests. Too bad. we had 2 concrete menus (or 7 dishes) the meal: really good overall! I didn't love all the dishes, but it was good. If I had to do a little reproach. There's too much vegetables and not enough meat. But I'm going to be honest with the seven dishes, and you're going out hungry. the service: it's not nice what I'm gonna say... but 4 servers on the 5 present were effective. But I won't hear any more. . for the chaining of dishes, it was perfect! the atmosphere: the panoramic view alone gives the atmosphere. If we put that point aside. I just found a shame that the music is not a little stronger and especially more in line with the restaurant. At the beginning of the meal, we hear music. Then more. Then a little. Then more. . for a restaurant of this range, I think it's an essential point to improve (or not to neglect) the price: honestly on the move, I found the restaurant expensive enough for what we had eaten (in large. 2 cocktails, 2 menus and 3 bottles of water: 230€. I didn't know that the restaurant had a star in the michelin. So I understand better... On balance: yes it is a very good restaurant. Now, is that what I'm going to do? honestly I don't know. I strongly advise him! Try it!
An excellent meal, simple products but a lot of work and research in textures and flavors. We discover, we travel, we delight and surprise his palate with unexpected colors and tastes, and we enjoy finding the ingredients hidden in the seasonings and sauces. We spent a very good evening there, in a place with contemporary and yet warm decor. It is a setting of modernism in the heart of the old village and discovering it at the turn of a paved alley is magical! The service is perfect: pleasant and professional without being guinded, one feels comfortable in a few minutes. We took the wood menu, everything was excellent and the dressage of dishes a mastered art. Champagne is very well chosen, divine bread. In short, a star at the michelin that he didn't fly!Warning it is a small room think to book!
