Austen's At The Pierpont Inn - Ventura

Austen's is a wonderful place with a beautiful setting. It is small but very cozy and comfortable. Our server, Denny, was fantastic. He was attentive, knowledgeable and personable. The food was very good, fresh and tasty but alittle overpriced. However I will definitely come here again

Ambience and food were superb. However, we were the only people there for an early dinner, and service was very slow why? my seared scallops and peruvian mashed potatoes arrived lukewarm. I had to send them back to get heated up. Afterwards, everything was delicious, from my meal to my husband's Caesar with salmon very moist!, to the tomato basil soup with chunky tomatoes. Had a wonderful Pierpont Cosmo. The view is beyond spectacular, and we were treated to a half hour of an everchanging sunset. Very romantic and charming. Service needs to improve, though I cannot understand why we had to wait so long for everything when we were the only people there... But we highly recommend, and will be back

Pretty straightforward hotel food very good wine list and full bar in temp location with a view until remodel is complete perhaps in May if

The view was beautiful, but the actual restaurant was missing. there was a strange smell - maybe water system. we moved to the outside and it was better. concrete floors in the courtyard were dirty and needed a good laundry. I had the scallops. the actual skallops were delicious, but the prosciutto with him was hard and I couldn't chew it. the crumbs that were made house were tasteful, but had been too long and were muddy. it was also not really hot served so that not helped. service was very good.

Temporary situation was ok. james our server was wonderful. good food good value
