King & Thai Restaurant - Victoria

I used to love this restaurant, especially when it was located on Cook Street. However, on my recent visit, the majority of the dishes were Chinese, and I had to wait five minutes before being served.

Ordered phad thai and red curry and spring rolls rolls tasted old and reheated and flavourless . Phad thai: np flavour....red curry ...passable

Didn't realize they did hot pots and the place was hopping when we went - we did take away with the usual Thai suspects and they were all very good.

What was initaially a reliable local source for great Thai food has become a teenager's hangout . We would normally get take out but have stopped doing so. When we would attempt to place and order ( 6 pm ) we were told they were sold out! When we tried on another evening we were told " no chef"... Won't try again despite the food being very good when you could get it. We are lucky now that there are other options near Oak Bay..

Everyone said yum, and the smells from our K & T takeout were outstanding. The intense flavours expected were a little less than we had hoped, but still very good. The spring rolls were super amazing, and we really enjoyed the red curry. Yum.
