I've been here several times and am always happy with the food and service. The beer selection is good, and the sandwiches/burgers are good

I don't know why this place can't get the food right. I've been going for the past four years since I moved into the neighborhood in each and every time it's a disappointment. They need a complete reno with the kitchen staff. Get rid of your kitchen staff and start all over again. Revamp the menu, and maybe revamp some of the servers. They aren't the most friendly. Not a place I'll return to for at least a year and hope things improve but I have my doubts.

I visited McRae's back in March for a friends birthday and had previously enjoyed my experiences there. I am a strict vegetarian and always make sure to check if I think something that sounds vegetarian has a non-vegetarian product, such as a meat stock. The soup sounded vegetarian, but my friend asked to be sure and our waitress said "yes" that the mushroom, barley and pesto soup was vegetarian. I went ahead and ordered this along with a salad, but as I was eating I could tell the soup wasn't quite right. Another waitress passed by and my friend commented that the soup was good, but also asked her if the soup was vegetarian. This waitress went to check and came back saying, "Well I hope none of you and vegetarian because the soup is made with a chicken broth base". Of course, I wasn't happy to hear this. As it was my friends birthday, I didn't want to make a big scene. However, I was charged in full for my meal and have yet to hear back from McRae's regarding the two emails I sent explaining my frustration with the service. I would not go back because of this. If you are a vegetarian, be careful!

The decor is rustic and fun. Booths q d picnic tables. The bar set up is cool. We had a nice meal. The steak sandwich was made well and the nachos were ok. The thing that got me was the waitress could have been a little more service aware. Never really asked how we liked our food.or how we were doing. Took awhile to bring our second drink. It seems like a cool place must the service could be a little better.

Don't go here for the food, but a great place to meet up with friends. real pints of good beer for $5.50. the waitress are friendly, and nice looking too.
