What Laure Bodin doesn't like about Highway Traffic Cafe:

Their menu items have now been taken over by The Tap House in Wainwright (Owned by the same family members). Highway Traffic was one of the higher priced lunch restaurants in town, and the atmosphere was kind of grungy and loud. For that reason we didn't go very often. But now that these menu items have moved over to the Tap House, the prices have increased significantly !! (Like $4-$5 per item). Sorry -- I won't pay $17-18 for a sandwich & fries so guess you won't be seeing me there.

We were in Wainwright for a hockey tournament. Stopped in at Highway Traffic Cafe for supper. The restaurant looks like an older road side diner so we just ordered a chicken caesar salad and pizza. We were so impressed with the caesar salad that we almost cancelled the pizza to order another salad. We were glad we didn't cancel the pizza as it was one of the best pizzas we have had. It was so cheesy, tasty sauce and not greasy. We ordered a Caesar salad to go and jokingly asked if they would sell the sauce as we were told it was homemade. They sold us a large container to take home. Excellent food and wonderful staff. Highly recommend the Highway Traffic Cafe!
Stopped in on our way home to Saskatchewan after reading previous reviews. The food was really good and plentiful, and appeared to be scratch-made. Nice touches - house made dressings and sauces, lemon wedges in the water. The space could use some sprucing up - fresh paint, sweeping the cobwebs from the light fixtures. Definitely will stop another time to try other menu items.
