We went here for dinner tonight and it was an exceptional meal on every level. The service is attentive and helpful, the drinks were delightful, and the food was some of the best I’ve ever had. It was a lovely experience and has been one of the highlights of our trip to DC so far. View all feedback.
What Hilbert Romaguera dislikes about 1789:
while the other three diners were satisfied with their eating, I was not. the rabbit roulade and the duck breast lubricated as if the dishes stayed too long under a heat lamp and were dry. while I like endive, this cooking method is completely ridiculous. Do not enjoy the room on the upper floor, as we enjoyed other areas of the restaurant in the past. View all feedback.

We came for restaurant week and it was really a pleasant experience.
Our server had excellent knowledge and geniality, and eating was great.
A very special night out. The food was inventive and a twist on some classics. Very flavorful and a top notch staff
The entire evening was great. The service, food, and ambience were top shelf. We will return.
