The food received mixed reviews, with some finding the portion sizes not worth the price while others praised the mussels and seafood options. The decor combines a preppy and sophisticated vibe, with an open setting overlooking the Washington Harbor. Dishes like tuna tacos, lobster rolls, and duck hash were highlighted as standouts. The service was generally good, despite some concerns about time constraints during busy periods. Overall, Orange Anchor offers a pleasant dining experience with beautiful views and creative cuisine.
Orange Anchor was the only restaurant at the Georgetown waterfront that my husband and I had not tried. We went on a Saturday evening around 7:15. We got seated immediately. Our waitress was just ok. We felt like we were at a TGI Fridays. We had to repeatedly ask for lemons for our water. I had the Crab BLT sandwich and my husband had the Old Bay Tacos. We also ordered a side of the lobster mac. The sandwich was very bland and rather bitter. My husbands tacos were nothing special either. The lobster mac was joke! Basically, it was a vunch of pasta with a very liquidy cheese and a few small pieces of what they called lobster. I guess we expected a lot more considering the location. Although the prices were not as high as the other restaurants in that area, it was definitely not worth it. We had a 83 tab.... WE WILL NOT BE BACK. Don't waste your time or your
The food taste was amazing, but unfortunately the size is not worth the price. I work in the restaurant business as well and I thought the appetizers were extremely expensive for what you get. I got the lobster cocktail that had no taste and the scallops that was the smallest thing ever, although they were perfectly cooked. Next time if I go I think I will go straight to the entree because it doesn't make a difference. I had the mussels, both options, and shared with a friend, and they were amazing!!! Can't complain about that at all! Also, I loved the idea of the popcorn at the beginning of the meal, delicious!!!
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! However, if you are on a tight schedule, like during lunchtime, I would be cautious. We were almost 30 minutes late returning to the office after dining here, and I didn't feel it was worth the delay. It seemed like the restaurant assumed we had all day to dine, which we did not.
The Orange Anchor restaurant is located right on the Harbor, offering a dining experience that perfectly blends indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is a mix of harbor, preppy, and sophisticated styles, creating a unique atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, and be sure to stop by the bar for their signature cocktail before sitting down. During our two visits to Orange Anchor, our group enjoyed dishes such as mussels, crab fritters, grilled portobello, lobster mac and cheese, chicken sandwich, and cheddar burger. The food was all tasty and creatively prepared, making for a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience.
The space is nicely designed to fully open up to the Washington Harbor. The food is pretty good even though the menu doesn't have a lot of options. The Brussel Sprouts are quite delicious and the lobster roll is well done. Would come back for another visit on a similar night.
