The Works - Waterloo

My experience at this restaurant was good. The gluten free bun I ordered was delicious and there were plenty of burger options to choose from. Just keep in mind that they do not have a dedicated fryer for gluten free items and the restaurant is not completely gluten free, so there is a possibility of cross contamination.

I was impressed by the gluten-free menu at this restaurant, which was very accommodating for people with celiac disease. I did not experience any negative reactions within 48 hours of eating here. We asked about the fryer and made sure to avoid anything cooked in the same oil. While the gluten-free bun was decent, it was not exceptional. In general, I highly recommend this restaurant for individuals with celiac disease, as you can eat here without worrying about gluten contamination.

The restaurant has a lively ambiance and the servers are very knowledgeable. Although they do not have a separate fryer, their gluten-free buns are tasty and durable. I highly suggest trying the Sk8r Boi burger.

After my recent visit and review of this specific restaurant location, the manager reached out to me. They persuaded us to give them another chance to show us their best. We went back to the Waterloo branch, and this time my burger was cooked exactly how my wife likes it - well done with no char. My wife was a bit hesitant about how her burger would turn out, so she ended up ordering chicken instead. The service was decent, and we were happy with our meal during this visit. Even the debit/credit machine worked smoothly this time. A big thank you to the manager, "Krazy Beech."

To make matters worse, the debit/credit machine was down, forcing us to pay in cash. Additionally, we were charged for two side fries instead of one, and the waiter made us uncomfortable by making a point of us not sharing our meals. Despite the issues we faced, we received no compensation or gesture of goodwill from the restaurant. In the end, we regretted our decision to dine at this location and will stick to the Fairway Road spot in the future. It's best to avoid this particular branch of The Works and head to their other location where the food and service are fantastic.
