The Café Stalder in Uzwil, Switzerland is a spacious cafe that serves brunch and lunch, and is open on Sundays for those looking for a nice place to eat a traditional meal. They have friendly service and were open to our family of four with...two children, eight and ten. There is a small children's menu and some vegetarian offerings as well. On Sunday, they have special brunch menus. I had to Cordon Blue Schnitzel with fries and roasted vegetables. The schnitzel was well prepared, moist and full of flavor. The roasted carrots and, in particular, the fennel were very good. My wife had the Rosti with tomatoes, which was good, but perhaps a bit bland and the portion was large. Our daughters had the Wiener Schnitzel and the Chicken Nuggets respectively, and both finished theirs easily and spoke highly of the food. The salads were fresh, although they added too much dressing. The service was friendly and accommodating. Although I began ordering in German, once the server realized the kids were American, she easily slipped into English. In all, this was a serendipitous find and I've added it here in the hope that more people find it as they might be passing through the area.
