Jazz Cafe Reading - West Berkshire

The Jazz Cafe at Millenium Stadium in Reading offers fantastic live music from 9pm to 2am. The place was packed for a fun and lively party night.

Went there for an Office Xmas party. The food was good but the music and sound system were both a dissapiontment.

The venue is great for dancing, but make sure to eat beforehand as the food portion sizes are very small. The food itself is quite basic, with the vegetable portion consisting of only five small cubes of potatoes and a thin slice of carrot. Additionally, the bar staff's knowledge is lacking, as they once offered me an ice bucket for red wine and served our friends an already opened bottle of wine. It was fortunate that our friends noticed before it was too late. Another annoyance was that if you left your table to dance, your glasses would be cleared away even if you still had a bottle of wine and a jug of water on the table, giving the impression that the staff just wanted to tidy up quickly.

We had booked a party back in May for an event in October. This week, when we contacted the club to pay the balance, we were informed that they had double booked and we no longer had a venue. Initially, they only offered to return our deposit without providing any solutions. With only three weeks left before the event and no venue for 65 people, we called them back to express our dissatisfaction. They then agreed to help find an alternative venue and cover any additional costs due to their mistake. However, once an alternative venue was found and the additional costs exceeded £800, they refused to offer any assistance, going back on their word. This lack of customer service is completely unacceptable considering we had booked the event months in advance. The person we dealt with was unhelpful, and we will never use this place again. I hope this review prevents others from experiencing the same wasted time and added stress that we have endured.

We had my husband and his brothers joint party at the jazz cafe Saturday evening and what a fab evening it was. The communication on the lead up to the party was excellent, bar staff were fantastic on the night, we used the resident DJ who played some great tunes and was very friendly, I would highly recommend this venue for any upcoming functions you may have.
