I had a wonderful evening at a charming cafe by the sea in sunny Lyme Regis. The music was delightful, the pizzas were delicious, the coffee was brilliant, and the cream teas were amazing. What tonymP5221QS doesn't like about The Blue Sea Cafe:
My friends and I stopped at this cafe for a light lunch by the beach. We ordered salads and pasties, but the crab salad was disappointing with a brown mush and shell mixed in. The chicken salad had overpowering onions and was of poor quality. I had to ask for bread, which was reluctantly brought to us. Fabulous fresh fish served by terrific young staff who cant do enough for you.. one of my very favourite places to be.
We have been to this café several times now and have never been disappointed. It's location on a sunny day cannot be beaten, right on the promenade, steps away from the beach. The various coffee and tea they serve is first class. The tea is loose leaf and comes in individual pots. They also serve cakes and ice cream but we have never tried anything else they have on offer. The service is always good and the staff are friendly. The tables and chairs are set up outside the café kiosk which is a clean and tidy area. They are dog friendly and provide water bowls. We will continue to visit this café when we are in Lyme and would recommend it to anyone.
And a great cup of tea, with leaves not bags. More a place for a drink or an ice-cream than for food.
Fabulous little find right on the promenade. Excellent service lovely big pots of tea the coffee is good too. Will be back to try the homemade cakes which looked delicious
Delightful little cafe right on the edge of the beach. We visited a couple of times and were very pleased both times. Nice coffee and an excellent choice of cakes as well. Also very nice ice cream all served by pleasant staff.
