While the food didn't quite meet expectations for the price, the attentive waitstaff made up for it. Some guests experienced rude service but overall, the staff were well-trained and welcoming. Despite some issues with running out of menu items, the food was tasty and well-presented. Non-meat eaters found good options and the staff were both friendly and professional. Guests enjoyed the quirky decor and excellent service, with compliments and complimentary desserts making a lasting impression. Overall, the beautiful setting, traditional British menu, and outstanding service make this restaurant worth a visit.
I can't believe it took me so long to finally visit this new restaurant in downtown Rochester.
My husband and I went to Chapman House on Saturday night for my birthday celebration.
Very calm, well trained staff, all were very attentive and made you feel welcome. Service was excellent we had one meal that was a little dry but when we asked for sauce it was no trouble, the waitress accepted our comments and fetched a freshly made sauce immediately.
Rude server who raised his voice to me. Kept asking if I have a booking even after I have been seated and details have been taken previously. There was one other table occupied in the restaurant. It was a Wednesday evening, not expecting lots of traffic in the restaurant anyway. I have eaten a few times in the restaurant before. I made annual trips there for business and always stay in the hotel and at the same time dine there. But not this time. And never again. I do not tolerate bad service.
Food was great and as a non meat eater I had choice eating there two evenings running. Staff were very friendly but also professional. We hope to go back in the future.
