We went to the WAG for a special event and were impressed with the friendly, efficient service. The food was exceptional, with beautiful presentation, delicious flavors, and satisfying textures. The menu offered a great selection of dishes to choose from. The only downside was that the dining room was a bit chilly, despite us bringing sweaters. However, we still highly recommend the WAG. What pmarkwick doesn't like about Washington Avenue Grill:
They need to update the menu it hasn't changed for years, boring. Way too noisy could not have a decent conversation with guests at our table. Had enough. After many years I will not be returning. Parking is terrible lucky to find a spot in the lot or pay parking on the street or behind the restaurant. View all feedback.
Gluten free items and “made to be” gluten free items are clearly laid out on the menu. Had a great meal and wasn’t sick.

We had dinner at this restaurant last night to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We had to wait really long for everything including my wine, the dessert menu, the dessert- where I wished happy birthday, and the bill itself- we were waiting a long time for everything.

My family of four was seated at a very small, round wobbly table in the back with a beautiful ocean view! We were a bit cramped. Our server was so incredibly nice. But the food left much to the imagination. We were shocked when he brought out such tiny portions. The wonton fried shrimp are literally about 6 fried jumbo shrimp. That 's it. That 's the dinner. The dry ribs are a bowl of bone in riblets with a tiny bit of extra dry, fried meat. I 'm sorry, but it was inedible. We made the most of it (for the sake of the cost). We lastly ordered the poutine, which was good, but still not a decent portion. We definitely left hungry. My recommendation is to come here with friends for a drink or a snack/ small bite to eat. It is not, however, a good place to have a filling meal.
