Joey's Restaurants - Winnipeg

We stopped in for supper as this place has been good before. But today we sat for 15plus minutes waiting for our order to be taken. The waitress was always around and taking other people order that came in after us. Never did anyone say we will be right there to take order or ask if we wanted something to drink. We came in after the crowd was leaving. We came to eat. Not to be ignored. So we will take our fish eating to another joeys and people will here about the service. The food is great. But the service was definitely not there.

I have been here many times - but had one poor experience - checked the internet for open hours - arrived at 8:30pm - staff would NOT seat me as they would be closing in one half hour (only two of us) decided to leave and complain - they did offer to supply us with take out - could not understand what difference that would make - after complaining - management did supply me with two coupons for free meals and appologized - when we went back - food was still good - but the service at this location leaves a lot to be desired - whenever I have gone - it has notbeen busy and service was slow - staff at this location are really not focused on customer service...make me miss Jim's Fish and Chips (they were great)

This is not a large place. It's located in the Northgate Mall just down the hall from the theater. The fish and chips are what we usually go for and there are evening specials, although we've never partaken of the all-you-can eat evenings. For me the 2 pieces of fish are ample. Don't expect fancy decor. It's a comfortable family place.

We started off ordering drinks, and our waitress Chantelle brought them out promptly. She then took our orders and was always polite and friendly. The food we ordered was hot and fresh tasting. We ordered the calamari for a starter, and it is so good. Even the kids love it. The rest of the food was delicious as well. The prices are good too.

My dad and I usually go on Saturday's @ Joey's and find the staff friendly and very polite. We had Take-away at times and it just was not the same quality as eating in. To get the best out of this place, eat-in, food's great and prices are fair.
