I had a really enjoyable evening here. There is a yard area and we ate in there. It was good. The service was OK, although it seemed to take a while to get us noticed. Food was good. I had Kangaroo and Emu. I think the platter was called something like outback killer. All in all, I liked it and would come back. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Outback Lodge:
We ordered the regular burger. It was not bad, but you saw that the meat was out of the freezer and produced in big industries. Nothing which is worth 28chf...I do not recommend this restaurant for burgers! View all feedback.
Once again visiting Winterthur, this time with a colleague. Decided to try Outback Lodge again. Very pleasant for a Thursday evening. Quite a few people dining and as it was warm decided to sit outside. It's nice outside but you are reminded thst you're close to the rail track as the trains pass by. The service was reasonable as once again the number of staff seemed limited for the number of diners. Having said that it wasn't bad and our server was ver pleasant throughout. The beer choice is reasonable but not extensive. The Coopers extra stout is a good drink. This time I chose the pork steak. Have to say it was a little dissapointing. The meat was barely cooked in the middle and what I had not realised on ordering was that it was actually in a breadcrumb coating with a cheese filling, bit like a kiev. Anyway, the pork was a little undercooked and chewy but the cheese was hot and melted! It was ok. The fries and roasted vegetables were good. My colleague had the standatd Outback burger which she said was good. So areasonable meal with reasonable service at a slightly inflated pirice. I will try it again next time I'm back in Winterthur.
We went for all you can eat wing night on Monday and it was absolutely excellent. The wings are great and the atmosphere is fun. You can eat all you want, so what beats that?! We would definitely return!
The restaurant is located in a former heavy-industry area which now booms with restaurants, music bars and new companies. The outback lodge is themed of a time when settlers came to Australia in the 19th century. The interior is very well done, staff is upbeat and friendly, and, also important, the food is very good. The menu contains ostrich, kangaroo, and even crocodile, but also "normal" stuff. Of course, also Australian wine and beer. There is a comprehensive liquor menu, including cocktails.
