While the ambiance captivates with its tranquil atmosphere and stunning views, the quality of food is uneven. Although some dishes shine, like perfectly cooked ribeye and delightful afternoon tea, others fall flat, characterized by lackluster nachos and standard Sunday lunches. Service, although well-intentioned, can feel hasty or disorganized at times. Overall, visitors appreciate the beautiful environment and generous portions, but many hope for a more refined culinary experience to match the venue’s charm.
Such a lovely setting but we were shocked by the standard of the food. Stopped for a drink and snack over £15 for nachos, which was a sad plate of Doritos with microwaved cheese and dips reminiscent of a kids birthday party. Terrace looked amazing in the sun but there were piles of plates and glasses on every table, clearly hadn’t been cleared in hours and as a result there were wasps everywhere. Historical hotel with outstanding restaurant. Food is really good with astonishing atmosphere. Just a bit disappointed with the dessert, it is ok, but not above average.
