I cannot express my disappointment with Penny's restaurant. We originally intended to have breakfast, but ended up waiting 1hr 15 mins for our lunch order to be served. To make matters worse, the group after us was served before us without any apology. When our food finally arrived, we were given incorrect orders and the extra bacon we were promised never came. This is by far the best restaurant I have ever been to. The food was immaculate, probably the best meal of my life, the music was also good but another thing atmosphere about this restaurant is so.nice the workers are five and a half stars...all the way . -written by our year old!

Really loved Penny's. Lovely pieces of artwork throughout, adding to the charm and individuality of the place..
Popped in twice whilst staying in York,lovely little cafe, with great food at reasonable prices,our lucky Labrador was most pleased with her take away sausage!
Interesting food options. We went at lunchtime, enjoyed the toastie of the week! Full of flavour and lots of ingredients. It was called the Italian Stallion!
