If you're looking for a local experience in the heart of Zihuatanejo this is the place to try. The service is warm and friendly, Rosalba the restaurant manager is the best host you'll meet. The head chef Pepe has 20 years experience in hatted restaurants and you'll definitely be able to notice this! All of the dishes are outstanding and I definitely recommend that you try the tortilla soup as a starter. We have discussed here at least once every trip to zihuat in the last few years. we love the location, the cozy atmosphere and friendly, professional service. the menu seems really never to change. this trip was just a bit with you. the taste and quality of the presentation is always charming.
I do not know why this place is not in the top 5 for Zihuat! We celebrated a birthday here recently as it’s our favorite when visiting the area. They provided cute decorations and as always the food, drinks and service are perfecto!
We had the best meal of our trip in this little gem. the man and woman team speak beautiful English and are so inviting and eating was top notch. they climb the stairs to this lovely odor soase and I knew we found a winner. I had a corn risotto with maui and shrimp and we started with a common eggplant appetizer. put it on their menu!
I have lived two months in zihuatanejo, and la gula is by far one of the best restaurants I have tried. if a friend hadn't invited me, I don't know if I had found it. the atmosphere is warm, the personal is friendly, and the eating is excellent. the restaurant is located on the upper floor. while not outside, it is open air, and there was a gentle brise in. it has a wonderful ambiente.
Fantastic food with a fantastic view, at a very affordable price. The only place in Zihua we came back to dine at again because the food was so enjoyable! You can tell the chef put a lot of thought and planning into the menu. Definitely...get the conchitas marineras. Mixed seafood in cream sauce, served in clam shells. Staff was super knowledgeable and you can see some of the kitchen action in their open kitchen. Restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and overlooks Calle Adelita.
