St. James's Gate Irish Pub is off the main drag on Wolf Street in downtown Banff. We found it by accident and were so glad we did! Terrific ambiance, as most of this pub was built in Ireland and then transported to the area at the turn of the century. We were a party of 5 for dinner. The hostess wasn't very welcoming- she took us to a dirty table and didn't come back to clean it or apologize that it was dirty. Truth be told she wasn't very well turned out either. The food wasn't very good. Bison burger was burnt to a crisp and the cottage pie's mash was an odd grey colour.
