"On Friday October 13th, my girlfriend and I made a reservation for dinner at the Fence and Post for 515pm.When we came in we were greeted and directed to a table in an otherwise empty restaurant (I think there were 4 other people not including staff there at the time) right in front of the kitchen. This was obviously disappointing and we did change tables but it seemed like the disappointment was only beginning.In excited preparation for dinner here we had researched the menu, I ordered the Osso Buco and my girlfriend ordered the Rustic Pasta w/shrimp.The Osso Buco was tough, cold and without any flavour. It was clearly pre-cooked and reheated and not enjoyable whatsoever.The rustic pasta had no taste, small portion size and required a significant amount of salt (we even added the Ratatouille to it to give it some amount of flavour. The garlic was nowhere to be found or tasted.We only had one glass of wine with the meal and with our mandatory gratuity (the service was acceptable) came to nearly $200. I cannot believe that such prices would be charged for heated up leftovers prepared by (visibly) inexperienced kitchen staff. These prices are more reflective of a restaurant that cares about their customers ' food and would not serve them that garbage for $200."

"Integrated pub, in the city of banff. the waiter was excellent. Eating was really good: I had the steak and Guinness Pie. the cake was not the traditional torte, but wrapped in a baked crust. still very tasty. of course I had a guinness to accompany the meal. yum!"

"This place is awesome. Went there with a big group Saturday night for Broken Toyz, place was packed and we never waited for a drink once. Our server was incredible. That and the food was great. Fun night! Support this place as they bring in live music every weekend."

"Stopped on for wing night and can say the service was good, the portions were good, the price was good and the sauce on rhe wings was really good. The actual wings were less than desirable. They had a fatty flavour to them that took away from the whole experience. Maybe it was just the batch I got so willing to try again as I love the old hotel and the spook stories that go with it."

"It's a strange but cool little restaurant considering it's the counter for goodies for the theatre. While waiting for my lunch, I took a quick look in the theatre. Kinda like looking back in time. Nice staff, great little meal. Nice stop in for a quick bite! Check it out!"

"My wife and I, along with our adult son called in for dinner recently and found we had a 'not such good experience'. After ordering wings as a starter it we waited, and waited, and waited but never complained. I did see meals being brought to other tables but hadn't taken notice if they had ordered ahead of us or not and so didn't give it any more thought. After a little longer the server came over and apologized. It appears the order was lost by the kitchen. However, they did comp the wings without any prompting from us. These were nice but then our entree arrived (haddock and chips). After eating this and then talking about it later we felt as though the meal had been cooked long before we got the wings and then left under a heat lamp to keep hot. Certainly not the most enjoyable meal we have eaten there. Might give this place a rest now and see what the other new places in town are like in comparison. We just like it here because there are no minors allowed."
