One of the best presented gardens in the North of Tassie. Menu in the café was extremely good. Food even better. Prices very affordable. Take the time to enjoy the garden it's well worth it. View all feedback.
We decided to take a drive up into the countryside of Burnie and stumbled upon Annsleigh Gardens. We had a delicious and reasonably priced lunch, served by extremely friendly staff. After our meal, we took a leisurely stroll through the gardens, which were beautifully maintained and displayed a great sense of humor. Unfortunately, we visited during a time when there was very little color in the gardens - the autumn hues were not quite in full bloom, and the summer colors had already passed. However, this gives us the perfect excuse to visit again in the spring. We highly recommend a visit to Annsleigh Gardens.
The food was fantastic and delicious, but there was one major mistake that happened....never, I repeat, never bring out the main course while someone is still only halfway through the appetizer!!! Other than that and maybe a slightly undercooked lemon meringue pie, the food was excellent. The homemade quiche was fabulous, the soup was amazing, and the garlic bread was great. However, one of the main courses was tasty but strangely lukewarm due to waiting in line.
We relied on the TripAdvisor rating to choose this restaurant, and we were not disappointed. We enjoy visiting gardens and grabbing a bite to eat afterwards. Some gardens we've visited in the past have not been very focused on their target audience, but Annsleigh was a pleasant surprise. The garden was beautiful and peaceful, and the cafe provided excellent service and delicious food. The portions were generous, and both the flathead and chips and quiche and salad mains were cooked to perfection and very tasty. We had no complaints about this charming countryside cafe.
We spent a most enjoyable afternoon at Annsleigh Gardens. A delicious lunch, followed by about an hour spent wandering around the beautiful gardens, relaxing & taking advantage of the many photo opportunities. The menu is quite extensive for a small cafe, our choices were all yummy, the service excellent & very nice coffee. Well worth a visit.
I went to Annsleigh Gardens because l saw it's rating on trip advisor. I'm so pleased I did. I had their vegetarian lasagne and salad and a piece of the apple and date cake all for $19.50. The food was well presented, tasty and fresh. This is plain, simple food done very well. After lunch I spent a delightful half hour walking around the gardens.
